Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Instructions

Prep cabbage: Bring a large pot of water to boil. Carefully remove cabbage leaves and blanch until pliable.

Make filling: Mix  ground meat, rice, onion, garlic, egg, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

Assemble  rolls: Place a spoonful of filling in each cabbage leaf, fold sides, and roll tightly.

Cook in sauce: Arrange rolls in a baking dish. Mix  tomato sauce, paste, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper. Pour over rolls. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 1 hour until tender

Helpful Tips

  • Trim the thick center vein of each cabbage leaf if needed to make rolling easier.

  • For extra flavor, layer a few extra cabbage leaves on the bottom of the baking dish before adding the rolls.

  • These rolls taste even better the next day as the flavors continue to develop.

  • Serve with crusty bread or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
